SkoutTerms of Use
Last updated: May 2026 · Early access (beta)
Skout exists to make youth sports better — for players, families, and the programs that shape them. These terms help keep contributions honest and the community worth trusting. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle submissions, verification proof, and analytics.
What Skout Is
Skout helps families understand youth sports programs through verified experiences shared by parents and athletes. We're in early access, and coverage is growing as more families contribute.
Honest Experiences Only
When you share an experience, you agree that your responses reflect what you actually observed for the team and season you selected. Do not submit experiences for programs you did not participate in, and do not include false or misleading information.
Respectful, Constructive Content
Share observations in good faith. Avoid naming coaches, staff, players, or other individuals, and avoid personal attacks, harassment, or content that could identify minors. We may edit, withhold, or remove submissions that violate these standards or our community guidelines.
Verification & Submission Process
Submissions are checked before they appear on program reports. We may request or check proof of participation. The uploaded proof is used only to verify participation and will be deleted once participation is confirmed. If participation cannot be confirmed, Skout may temporarily retain the proof to follow up with the submitting family and delete it once it is no longer needed. Your email is used to manage your submission, prevent abuse, and contact you about your experience. It is not shown publicly or shared with the organization you described. Only verified experiences affect Skout scores, summaries, and program reports. Submissions that are not verified may still be reviewed or retained, but they will not be used to generate public program insights.
Athlete Voice
Athletes may share their own experience. Athletes under 13 should complete submissions with help from a parent or guardian. Athletes ages 13-17 may submit Athlete Voice feedback with safeguards, and adults 18+ may submit a standard experience.
How We Use Aggregated Insights
Verified experiences may be combined into program-level summaries, such as patterns in goal alignment, environment, and development. Individual experiences are not presented as official statements by any club, league, or organization.
How To Use These Insights
Skout is provided during beta on an "as is" basis. Program reports reflect contributed experiences at a point in time and may not capture every team, season, or family experience. Use Skout as one input alongside your own research and conversations with programs.
